{"id":21159,"date":"2022-03-01T01:13:40","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T01:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=21159"},"modified":"2022-03-01T01:13:43","modified_gmt":"2022-03-01T01:13:43","slug":"wisk-aero-partners-with-long-beach-to-make-advanced-air-mobility-a-reality-in-southern-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/california\/wisk-aero-partners-with-long-beach-to-make-advanced-air-mobility-a-reality-in-southern-california\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Wisk Aero Partners with Long Beach to Make Advanced Air Mobility a Reality in Southern California"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Wisk Aero, a leading Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company and\ndeveloper of the first all-electric, self-flying air taxi in the United States,\nhas partnered with the City of Long Beach, California through its Long Beach\nEconomic Partnership (LBEP) to make AAM a reality in Southern California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this partnership, the two organizations will work to\ncreate an AAM working group composed of business, local government, and\ncommunity leaders that will focus on evaluating, planning, and implementing AAM\nin Long Beach, with a focus on autonomous flight. Wisk and LBEP will co-chair\nthe working group for an initial two-year term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the next two years, the working group will examine four\nkey areas to evaluate the opportunities and impacts that AAM represents for\nLong Beach. These areas include an analysis of the economic impact and\nworkforce development, community acceptance and outreach, integration of\nautonomous AAM into city transportation plans, and federal and state government\nfunding opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With support from Wisk, LBEP will coordinate the development\nof an Economic Impact Study that will be conducted by the Cal State Long Beach\n(CSULB) Office of Economic Research. The study will estimate the annual\neconomic impact of AAM operations in Southern California and other regional\nstate economies. The results of the study are expected to be completed later\nthis year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to work with the City of Long Beach and LBEP\nin this unique partnership,\u201d Gary Gysin, CEO of Wisk said. \u201cWith its rich\naerospace past, current resurgence via Space Beach, and its central position in\nthe LA Metro area, Long Beach is an ideal city for all-electric, autonomous\nurban flight opportunities. Through this partnership, Long Beach has the\nopportunity to be one of the first cities to realize the economic and\nenvironmental benefits of AAM, as well as to lead Southern California, and the\nUnited States, in autonomous, all-electric AAM.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAerospace innovation has always been a strong part of Long\nBeach history,\u201d says Mayor Robert Garcia. \u201cWe have produced some of the world\u2019s\nmost modern aircraft, are leading in the space economy, and will now be home to\nnew technologies in Advanced Air Mobility.
