The unanimous decision authorized the\ndistribution of $5.5 million in state aviation fuel tax revenues through grants\nto 12 Colorado public-use airports under the Colorado Discretionary Aviation\nGrant (CDAG) Program administered by the Colorado Department of Transportation\n(CDOT) Division of Aeronautics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mineral-County-Memorial-Airpor.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21123\" width=\"409\" height=\"235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mineral-County-Memorial-Airpor.jpg 550w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mineral-County-Memorial-Airpor-300x172.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><figcaption><em>The Mineral County Memorial Airport (C24) located in Creede, Colorado was awarded a $3 million discretionary aviation grant for the rehabilitation of its runway. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The grants ranged in size from $25,000 to $3 million. This\nyear\u2019s grant awards were categorized into six different project types including\npavement maintenance and rehabilitation projects, a fuel farm installation,\nemergency access enhancements, and planning\/design services. Over 60% of this\nyear\u2019s discretionary aviation grant awards were allocated for two runway\nrehabilitation projects at Steamboat Springs Municipal Airport (SBS) and\nCreede-Mineral County Memorial Airport (C24). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.codot.gov\/programs\/aeronautics\/assets\/docs\/grant-reports\/2022cdag_statelocal.pdf\">A comprehensive listing of each individual airport grant award can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Colorado Division of Aeronautics is committed to\nsupporting Colorado\u2019s multi-modal transportation system by assisting Colorado\u2019s\nairports through the funding of critical projects. This program allows us to\ncontinue to advance a safe, efficient, and effective statewide aviation\nsystem,\u201d said Aeronautics Division Director David Ulane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Colorado Aeronautical Board (CAB) is pleased to approve\nthese critical airport grants that continue to raise the bar of our state\u2019s\nairport infrastructure and emergency access,\u201d said CAB Chairman Kenneth Maenpa.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Colorado Aeronautical Board (CAB) is scheduled to meet\non April 13, 2022, for the 2022 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) matching\ngrant hearings.
