The event is\nsponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation and the Kansas Commission\non Aerospace Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Numerous organizations will be participating and have booths\non the first and second floors of the rotunda with information and\ndemonstrations for visitors. The event helps increase awareness of aviation\nindustry opportunities across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKansas continues to play a pivotal role in aviation\u2019s\nimpact on our culture and economy,\u201d said Julie Lorenz, Secretary of\nTransportation. \u201cAviation Day provides evidence how through public-private\ncollaboration, the Kansas aviation industry continues to grow through\ninnovation, exploration and manufacturing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presentations will begin at 10 a.m. and take place on the\nfirst floor rotunda. Keynote speakers include: Secretary Lorenz; Andrew\nSchlapp, Wichita State University Executive Director of Government Relations\n&amp; Strategy and Wichita State Innovation Alliance; and Joe Miniance, Urban\nAir Mobility Division Director of State and Local Policy Nathan Trail and\nFederal Aviation Administration Administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artwork from the 2022 International Aviation Art Contest\nstatewide winners will also be on display reflecting this year\u2019s theme: \u201cDesign\nYour Perfect Aircraft.\u201d Over 120 pieces of art were submitted by students ages\n6-17.
