The Airport Director works under the broad guidance of the Dare County Airport\nAuthority (DCAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>JOB DUTIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Operates with considerable latitude, which\nrequires discretion and judgment based on extensive airport management\nknowledge to make independent professional and managerial decisions.<\/li><li>Assists the DCAA in identifying short and\nlong-range airport improvement projects including planning, scheduling, and\nbudgeting.<\/li><li>Provides status reports to the DCAA on\nmanagement of airport projects, airport incidents, and significant events.<\/li><li>Responsible for maintenance of runways,\nlighting, communications equipment, buildings, grounds, hangars, and other\nairport properties.<\/li><li>Develops and recommends policies, procedures,\nand fee structures for fuel, hangar rents, and fees charged to airport tenants.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thorough knowledge and experience in airport\noperations.<\/li><li>Knowledge of FAA, State, and local regulations\nrelated to airport management.<\/li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in writing\nand orally.<\/li><li>Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate\nemployees in airport operations and maintenance.<\/li><li>Good personal skills and the ability to work\neffectively with pilots, executives, tenants,<\/li><li>vendors, the public, and employees.<\/li><li>Pilot\u2019s License (preferred, but not required)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree (preferred) in Airport Management, Business Administration, or other related field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To Apply Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governmentjobs.com\/careers\/darenc\/jobs\/3367326\/airport-director?pagetype=jobOpportunitiesJobs\">County of Dare<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SALARY: $67,196.00 &#8211; $87,354.00 Annually DEPARTMENT: DC Airport Authority OPENING DATE: 01\/11\/22 ABOUT THE POSITION: Dare County Regional Airport (KMQI) is seeking an Airport Director to direct, manage, supervise, coordinate, and operate the services of the Airport, as well as, building and field maintenance, aviation safety, regulatory compliance and other related activities.
