The Aircraft Pilots Aviation Workforce\nDevelopment Grants were awarded to accredited higher-education institutions,\nhigh schools, state and local governments and flight schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur investment in the aviation workforce of the future must\nbegin today,\u201d said FAA Administrator Steve Dickson, a former commercial\ncaptain. \u201cThese grants help nurture interest in aviation at an early age to\nbuild a career during one of the most dynamic times in aviation history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grantees can use the funding to create and deliver\ncurriculum designed to prepare students to become aircraft pilots, aerospace\nengineers, or unmanned aircraft systems operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To maintain the safest and most efficient aerospace system\nwell into the future, the FAA recognizes the need to create a robust pipeline\nof skilled and diverse professionals. These grants are one way the agency is\nworking to address the projected shortages of aircraft pilots in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grant recipients include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Florida State College, Jacksonville, Fla.:\n$498,000<\/li><li>Northwestern Michigan College, Traverse City,\nMich.: $90,000<\/li><li>Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City,\nN.C.: $269,000<\/li><li>University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D.:\n$488,000<\/li><li>County of Scottsbluff School District #16,\nGering, Neb.: $500,000<\/li><li>Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology,\nFlushing, N.Y.: $498,000<\/li><li>Aerotrek Flight Academy, LLC, Wadsworth, Ohio:\n$77,000<\/li><li>Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission, Oklahoma City,\nOkla.: $491,000<\/li><li>Harrisburg University of Science &amp;\nTechnology, Harrisburg, Penn.: $135,000<\/li><li>Spartanburg County School District #5 (James.
