{"id":20629,"date":"2022-01-16T17:06:06","date_gmt":"2022-01-16T17:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=20629"},"modified":"2022-01-16T17:06:07","modified_gmt":"2022-01-16T17:06:07","slug":"national-association-of-flight-instructors-names-new-board-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/national-association-of-flight-instructors-names-new-board-chair\/%20","title":{"rendered":"National Association of Flight Instructors Names New Board Chair"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As of January 1, 2022, the National Association of Flight\nInstructors (NAFI) has a new Board Chair, Karen Kalishek, DPE, ATP, Master\nCFI\/CFII\/MEI, CFI-G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Karen-Kalishekedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20630\" width=\"152\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Karen-Kalishekedit.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Karen-Kalishekedit-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 152px) 100vw, 152px\" \/><figcaption><em>Karen Kalishek<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Kalishek joined the NAFI board in March 2018 and brought\na wealth of experience to the association. During her time on the board, her\nmany contributions helped move NAFI into new areas of industry leadership.\nKaren\u2019s steadfast commitment to NAFI facilitated broader reach in government\nand industry relations. Her primary focus is runway safety and Kalishek\nregularly attends the FAA Surface Safety Group meetings. A strong proponent of\nthe FAASTeam WINGS Pilot Proficiency Programs as well, she represents NAFI on\nthe WINGS Usability Working Group and the WINGS Industry Network.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since receiving her private pilot certificate in 2006,\nKalishek, of De Pere, WI, has been non-stop in building an impressive list of\ncredentials. She is a Designated Pilot Examiner, ATP, three-time NAFI Master\nInstructor, FAA Gold Seal Instructor, CFII, MEI, CFI-G, AGI, IGI, and FAASTeam\nLead Representative in the MKE FSDO. In 2019, Kalishek received the National\nFAASTeam Representative of the Year award. She has held officer positions in\nand is actively involved with several aviation organizations. She is a Major in\nthe Civil Air Patrol, serving as a CAP volunteer flight instructor, check\npilot, examiner, mission pilot and cadet orientation pilot. She is an\nindependent flight instructor, has a particular fondness for antique aircraft,\nand enjoys spending quality time with her RV-6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before becoming a full-time flight instructor, Kalishek was\nan executive in the banking industry, taught graduate school, and as president\nof her own corporation, spent over 20 years providing international consulting\nservices in 37 countries. Karen holds bachelor\u2019s degrees in accounting and\nbusiness administration, and an MBA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHaving the opportunity to be a board member of this highly\nrespected and vital association since 2018 has been a privilege.
