{"id":20568,"date":"2022-01-12T00:13:19","date_gmt":"2022-01-12T00:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=20568"},"modified":"2022-01-12T00:14:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-12T00:14:00","slug":"lift-academy-adds-stanly-county-airport-as-winter-satellite-location-for-flight-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-carolina\/lift-academy-adds-stanly-county-airport-as-winter-satellite-location-for-flight-training\/%20","title":{"rendered":"LIFT Academy Adds Stanly County Airport as Winter Satellite Location for Flight Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As winter weather rolls into the Midwest, LIFT (Leadership\nIn Flight Training) Academy, based in Indianapolis, began its winter flight\ntraining operations at Stanly County Airport in Albemarle, North Carolina, to\ngive its students not only a warm weather environment conducive for visual\nflight rules but also an opportunity to train in different topography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lift-Stanly-County-Airport.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20569\" width=\"365\" height=\"151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lift-Stanly-County-Airport.jpg 480w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lift-Stanly-County-Airport-300x124.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>LIFT, which operates a fleet of 40 Diamond DA40-NG and 5\nDA42-VI aircraft, is staging up to 15 planes at Stanly County Airport, and over\nthe course of December, January and February, LIFT anticipates that over 100\nflight students will benefit from the relocated winter flying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have had incredible success in our mission to prepare\nairline-ready pilots in our home location at Indianapolis International\nAirport. Adding Stanly County Airport provides operational relief with more\nreliable winter weather so our students\u2019 accelerated training program can\ncontinue uninterrupted in the harshest winter months,\u201d Ed Bagden, Director of\nLIFT Operations and Academic Programs, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeyond the weather, Stanly County Airport was attractive\nfor our operations due to their facilities, infrastructure and welcoming staff\nwho worked with us as we met the FAA requirements to establish the satellite\nlocation,\u201d Bagden added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/LIFT-Logo-Stacked-blue-and-yellow.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20570\" width=\"161\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/LIFT-Logo-Stacked-blue-and-yellow.jpg 420w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/LIFT-Logo-Stacked-blue-and-yellow-300x279.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 161px) 100vw, 161px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the winter, LIFT students operate training flights\nin and out of Stanly County Airport with landings and lessons also taking place\nat 25 additional airports across the southeastern United States. Lessons range\nfrom private pilot instruction to commercial training.
