This new\ndonation of flights by Air Canada and the Air Canada Foundation will enable\nAirlink to support the movement of 30 Team Rubicon Canada volunteers to Fraser\nValley, B.C. where they will provide recovery relief to communities impacted by\nrecent flooding and landslides.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFollowing heat domes and heartbreaking wildfire destruction\njust months earlier, British Columbia faced another extreme climate event this\nyear, with devastating flooding and landslides that affected thousands of\npeople as well as the province\u2019s highway transportation network.&nbsp; The importance of continuing to help\ncommunities in need remains one of the Air Canada Foundation\u2019s priorities. We\nare proud to transport Airlink and Team Rubicon Canada\u2019s experts, whose\nimportant work on the ground will help our communities recover and rebuild\u201d\nsaid Valerie Durand, Spokesperson for the Air Canada Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prompting a state of emergency in November, the\nunprecedented flooding in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest of the\nU.S., resulted in nearly $450 million in damage and 5 reported deaths. The\nflooding came on the heels of the summer 2021 wildfires, which left an altered\nterrain more susceptible to increased flooding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSadly, many people aren\u2019t aware of the magnitude of the\nflooding in British Columbia. This is a prime example of how Airlink is able to\nsupport critical missions of various sizes in response to disasters that might\nnot attract the attention or support they deserve because they don&#8217;t feature in\nthe news cycle. We are thankful to have such strong partners like Air Canada,\nthe Air Canada Foundation, and Team Rubicon Canada, said Steven J.
