With a\nrapidly growing list of collaborations with leading restaurant and retail\nchains \u2013 far more than any other drone delivery company \u2013 Flytrex has already\ncompleted thousands of deliveries: More home deliveries via drone than any\nother company in the U.S. This newly granted approval permits the pioneering\ndrone delivery company to operate its five-minute delivery service above people\nand moving vehicles. As part of the approval, deliveries will be made in\ncooperation with longtime partner Causey Aviation Unmanned, offering food,\ndrinks and other goods to approximately 10,000 eligible households that can opt\ninto the service. Flytrex and Causey will conduct all flights while maintaining\nthe highest safety standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This approval comes on the heels of several milestones for\nFlytrex. Most recently, Flytrex raised a $40 million Series C funding round to\nramp up expansion throughout the U.S. and advance partnerships with leading\nretailers and quick-service restaurants (QSRs). In October 2021, Flytrex\nlaunched its third drone delivery station in North Carolina, delivering food\norders from restaurants and chains at the Holly Springs Towne Center to\nresidents\u2019 backyards. Flytrex has been operating in the \u2018First in Flight\u2019 state\nsince September 2020, beginning in Fayetteville, NC, and expanding its service\nto the town of Raeford, NC. Since February 2021, the volume of Flytrex orders\nacross its North Carolina operations has increased more than tenfold, with\nthousands of deliveries to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flytrex-food-delivery-NCedit-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20378\" width=\"207\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flytrex-food-delivery-NCedit-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flytrex-food-delivery-NCedit-1-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 207px) 100vw, 207px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The process for ordering delivery via drone will remain the\nsame at each location. Eligible households will be able to purchase a wide\nvariety of food orders and goods from nearby stores and local restaurants and\ncafes. Orders are placed using the Flytrex app, which updates customers\nregarding their order status along the route until the package is lowered\nsafely by wire into their backyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDrone delivery is reaching new heights faster than anyone\ncould have expected. This approval from the FAA will allow us to cater to the\ngrowing demand for fast and efficient on-demand delivery in suburban America,\u201d\nsaid Yariv Bash, co-founder and CEO of Flytrex. \u201cWe look forward to continuing\non this exciting flightpath, bringing five-minute delivery to the millions of\nbackyards across the USA.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since successfully launching the world\u2019s first fully\nautonomous urban drone delivery system in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 2017, Flytrex\nhas been helping to get drone delivery off the ground. Flytrex is working with\nthe North Carolina Department of Transportation, one of eight participants in\nthe Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s (FAA) BEYOND Initiative, a project\nfocused on tackling the remaining challenges of UAS integration.
