This agreement solidifies a long-term\nrelationship between the two associations for the international vertical\ntakeoff and landing (VTOL) industry, recognizing their aligned values and\nmissions and formalizing their ability to collaborate on initiatives and\nprograms. The agreement will take effect Jan. 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EHA and HAI made the announcement at the 2021 EUROPEAN\nROTORS VTOL Show and Safety Conference in Cologne, Germany, on Nov. 16. EHA\nproduced the show in collaboration with the European Union Aviation Safety\nAgency (EASA). Peter Moeller, chairman of EHA, which represents the helicopter community\nin 11 European countries, made the announcement at the event-opening press\nconference, asking James Viola, president and CEO of HAI, to join him on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In announcing the partnership, Moeller said, \u201cThe European\nHelicopter Association and Helicopter Association International share common priorities,\ninterests, and goals in promoting safety, professionalism, and innovative advancements\nwithin the industry, as well as driving to improve the economic viability of\nthe VTOL sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, our two associations have been looking at ways we\ncan more closely work together by taking advantage of collaborative\nopportunities that draw on the best of each organization\u2014those programs that we\nhave already determined to be successful\u2014so that we are able to work more\nefficiently in supporting our members and the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis partnership strengthens the already-close relationship\nbetween HAI and EHA and represents our commitment to work together to meet our\naligned goals. We both want to see a VTOL industry with zero accidents that is\nable to continue its work on behalf of society while being economically\nvibrant, growing, diverse, and sustainable,\u201d said Viola. \u201cBy combining our\nresources and efforts, we will see increased efficiencies that will in turn\nhelp HAI and EHA to make a greater impact. We firmly believe our members and the\ninternational VTOL community will benefit from this agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EHA and HAI teams have already combined efforts on\nseveral projects.
