The round was led by BRM\nGroup with participation from OurCrowd, Lukasz Gadowski, Founder and Chairman\nat Delivery Hero, and includes existing investors Benhamou Global Ventures\n(BGV), btov, and BackBone Ventures. Flytrex will use the funds to ramp up\nexpansion throughout the US and advance partnerships with leading retailers and\nquick-service restaurants (QSRs), paving the runway for a future where drone\ndelivery is the rule rather than the exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flytrex\u2019s funding round comes in the wake of several key launches\nand expansions. Most recently, Flytrex launched its third drone delivery\nstation in North Carolina, delivering food orders from restaurants and chains\nat the Holly Springs Towne Center to residents\u2019 backyards \u2013 including from It\u2019s\nJust Wings\u00ae, Brinker International\u2019s virtual brand available from Chili\u2019s\u00ae\nGrill &amp; Bar and Maggiano\u2019s Little Italy\u00ae. Flytrex has been operating in the\n\u2018First in Flight\u2019 state since September 2020, beginning in Fayetteville, NC \u2013\ndelivering groceries and household items as well as restaurant orders to select\ncustomers \u2013 and has since expanded its service to the town of Raeford, NC.\nSince February 2021, the volume of Flytrex orders across its North Carolina\noperations has increased more than tenfold, with thousands of deliveries to\ndate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;On-demand drone delivery has skyrocketed since the\npandemic began and is becoming much more mainstream, much faster than\nexpected,\u201d said Yariv Bash, CEO and Co-Founder of Flytrex. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to\ncontinue working with the FAA, the North Carolina Department of Transportation\nand others to bring swift, affordable and sustainable on-demand drone delivery\nto more partners, communities and consumers across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since successfully launching the world\u2019s first fully autonomous urban drone delivery system in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2017, Flytrex has been helping drive regulatory advances aimed at getting drone delivery off the ground.
