The airline has selected Calgary as its\nheadquarters and plans to announce routes and schedules soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"170\" height=\"230\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/merren-mcarthur.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20069\"\/><figcaption><em>Merren McArthur<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Merren McArthur has been named CEO of Lynx, bringing a\nwealth of aviation experience to the role. She has served as CEO of ultra-low-cost\ncarrier Tigerair Australia, CEO of Virgin Australia Regional Airlines and\nfounding CEO of Virgin Australia Cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to bring competition and choice to the\nCanadian aviation market at a time when Canadians are yearning for the\nopportunity to fly again, whether it be to see friends and family or to take a\nlong-awaited holiday,\u201d McArthur said. \u201cWe have created an ultra-affordable fare\nstructure which is focused on simplicity, transparency and choice. Our \u00c3\u00a0 la\ncarte pricing will empower passengers to pick and pay for the services they\nwant, so they can save money on the trip and spend where it counts \u2013 at their\ndestination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lynx will operate a fleet of Boeing\u2019s newest 737 aircraft,\nfeaturing leading-edge fuel-efficient technology. The airline has firm orders\nand lease agreements in place for a total of 46 aircraft over the next seven\nyears to meet anticipated demand.
