The bill establishes an interagency working group to more effectively engage the federal government in furthering the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Advanced Air Mobility sector is on the verge of\ntransforming the future of aviation with the introduction of electric and\nhybrid powered aircraft into the national airspace system. The Advanced Air\nMobility Coordination and Leadership Act will ensure that the federal\ngovernment develops a coordinated approach for promoting this innovative sector\nof aviation which will facilitate additional transportation options, create\njobs and economic activity, advance environmental sustainability and new\ntechnologies, and support emergency preparedness and competitiveness,\u201d said\nPete Bunce, President and CEO of GAMA. \u201cWe commend the House for passing this\nimportant bipartisan legislation and are grateful for those that championed it,\nincluding the bill\u2019s sponsors, Representatives Davids and Graves, as well as\nall of the cosponsors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act,\nintroduced by Representatives Sharice Davids (D-Kan.) and Garret Graves\n(R-La.), authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to establish an interagency\nworking group composed of leaders from key government agencies to plan for and\ncoordinate efforts for the advancement of the AAM industry. The working group\nwill be tasked to review and make recommendations for the federal role in the\nAAM sector, beyond the initial critical stage of aircraft certification and\noperations, with a focus on economic and workforce opportunities, potential\nphysical and digital security risks and mitigations, and infrastructure\ndevelopment.&nbsp; In developing these\nrecommendations, the working group will consider the views of various\nstakeholders including aviation operators and manufacturers; airports; labor\ngroups; state, local and tribal officials; consumer groups; and first\nresponders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, the Senate companion bill (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/516\">S.516<\/a>), which was introduced by U.S. Senators Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D- Ariz.) was approved by the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) applauded the bipartisan passage of the Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act (H.R 1339) out of the U.S. House of Representatives.
