{"id":19871,"date":"2021-11-01T20:14:21","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T20:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=19871"},"modified":"2021-11-01T20:14:24","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T20:14:24","slug":"nbaa-launches-new-safety-management-certificate-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/district-of-columbia\/nbaa-launches-new-safety-management-certificate-program\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NBAA Launches New Safety Management Certificate Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has\nintroduced a new Safety Manager Certificate Program to provide introductory to\nmid-level education on safety in business aircraft operations, reflecting the\nassociation\u2019s commitment to safety as one of the industry\u2019s core values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developed in collaboration with Advanced Aircrew Academy,\nConvergent Performance and Fireside Partners, the program includes education\nand testing in six key areas of safety management: leadership, safety policy,\nsafety risk management, safety assurance, safety promotion and emergency\nresponse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will begin being offered in January 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNBAA saw a need to develop an entry to mid-level\ncertificate designed for new and existing safety managers,\u201d said NBAA Director,\nCertification Tyler Austin. \u201cThis certificate will educate and validate what\nthese safety professionals need to know to effectively manage a business\naviation organization\u2019s safety management efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing the course, successful program participants\nwill receive a certificate and a digital badge to validate their knowledge.\nBoth flight department personnel who have been assigned safety management\nresponsibilities, and professionals looking to work in business aviation\noperations, can greatly benefit from the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe primary objective of the assessment-based certificate\nprogram is to help flight department personnel who have been assigned safety\nmanagement responsibilities, typically as an ancillary duty, so they can\neffectively manage a business aviation organization\u2019s safety management efforts,\nincluding its safety management system,\u201d said NBAA Director, Safety and Flight\nOperations Mark Larsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Safety Manager Certificate Program is intended to\nestablish a baseline knowledge, identify resources safety that managers can\nrely upon as references and inspire a desire for more advanced learning in the\nareas of safety management \u2013 rather than to create deep expertise in every\ndomain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is being offered in two eight-week periods each year\nand will include several hours each week of asynchronous learning modules,\nindependent self-study reading reference material, webinar interaction for\nadditional learning, an \u201cask the experts\u201d component and a test preparation\nsession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates must complete the course modules and pass the final exam to receive a Safety Manager Certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sign up to receive <a href=\"https:\/\/nbaa.org\/professional-development\/safety-manager-certificate-program\/sign-up-for-safety-manager-certificate-program-announcements\/\">program updates<\/a> as they become available.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has introduced a new Safety Manager Certificate Program to provide introductory to mid-level education on safety in business aircraft operations, reflecting the association\u2019s commitment to safety as one of the industry\u2019s core values.
