Romo, A.A.E is the new Director of Airports for the\nCity of Wichita. Romo, formally the Director of Aviation for the Kansas\nDepartment of Transportation, currently is the Airport Director for the\nManhattan Regional Airport in Manhattan, Kan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jesse-Romo-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19855\" width=\"328\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jesse-Romo-2.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jesse-Romo-2-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 328px) 100vw, 328px\" \/><figcaption><em>Jesse R. Romo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Romo comes to the City of Wichita with an\nextensive aviation background. He brings proven success at various levels of\naviation management, and we believe his previous experience mixed with a fresh\nperspective will be an asset to our city,&#8221; said City Manager Robert\nLayton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Director of Airports is responsible for the executive\nleadership of the Department of Airports and for oversight and operations of\nWichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport and Colonel James Jabara Airport.\nThe Department is the landlord of both airports and its real estate activities,\nand provides services to airlines, tenants, customers, and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romo said he is extremely honored and humbled to follow in\nthe footsteps of airport directors Bailis Bell and Victor White, who have no\ndoubt left their undeniable imprint. His first day will be Monday, November 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romo holds a Master of Business Administration in Aviation\nwith a focus in Human Resources Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical\nUniversity in Florida, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from University of\nCalifornia, Los Angeles and is an accredited professional and licensed pilot.\nHe was also named a 40-Under-40 Best and Brightest by Airport Business Magazine\nin 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jesse R.
