The meeting featured a Q&amp;A session with Amy Spowart, president and CEO of the National Aviation Hall of Fame, and Jennifer Baxmeyer, executive director of the Cradle of Aviation Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Task Force, comprised of aviation leaders from industry\nand academia, is charged with providing independent recommendations and\nstrategies to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to educate youth on\ncareer opportunities in aviation. In addition, the Task Force will identify and\nrecommend opportunities for apprenticeships, workforce-development programs and\ncareers in the aviation for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe work that the Youth in Aviation Task Force is doing to\nattract students to pursue careers in aviation is invaluable. They have\nincluded many industry leaders, supporters and voices to get a comprehensive\npicture for the best recommendations and advice. Our museum is happy to have\nsuch wonderful allies tackling these industry issues.\u201d said Jennifer Baxmeyer,\nExecutive Director, Cradle of Aviation Museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Focusing on U.S. high school students, these recommendations\nand strategies will be used to facilitate and encourage students to enroll in\naviation career and technical education courses. These include aviation\nmanufacturing and maintenance and science, technology, engineering, and\nmathematics (STEM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is imperative that the Youth in Aviation Task Force and\nour partners from academia and industry find ways to meet youth where they are\nand ensure that all children have the opportunity to reach their dreams of a\ncareer in aviation.\u201d said Amy Spowart, president and CEO National Aviation Hall\nof Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Task Force will submit recommendations and strategies from their meetings to the FAA Administrator and the appropriate Congressional committees.
