{"id":19703,"date":"2021-10-12T13:24:23","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T13:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=19703"},"modified":"2021-10-12T13:24:24","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T13:24:24","slug":"warren-county-community-college-partners-with-unmanned-safety-institute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/aviation-education\/warren-county-community-college-partners-with-unmanned-safety-institute\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Warren County Community College Partners with Unmanned Safety Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As one of a select number of community colleges approved for\nthe Securing Our Children\u2019s Future Bond Act, Warren County (NJ) Community\nCollege has elected to significantly expand its\u2019 Unmanned Aircraft Systems\n(UAS) career and technical education (CTE) program.&nbsp; Warren chose Unmanned Safety Institute\u2019s UAS\nCurriculum and Certifications for its\u2019 nationally recognized drone program due\nto the broad acceptance and recognition of USI Credentials by the commercial\ndrone industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Warren County Community College recognized early on that\nunmanned systems technology (air, ground and sea) will serve as the core of\nfuture transportation systems.&nbsp; As such,\nWarren has committed to building an Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence at\nthe college\u2019s Phillipsburg Education Center, where they have earned several\nnational certifications from the FAA.&nbsp;\nWarren offers an Associate Degree in Unmanned Systems, a Certificates in\nboth Drone Piloting and Drone Maintenance &amp; Repair and is adding degrees in\nGIS and Photogrammetry.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis grant allows us to prepare for the future in a field\nthat has boundless potential\u201d, said Dr. Will Austin, the President of Warren,\nand the college\u2019s Chief Pilot.&nbsp; \u201cThe\ngrowth of unmanned technology will be creating hundreds of thousands of exciting,\nwell paid; career opportunities and we want the Warren students to have the\nbest opportunity to prepare for leadership level participation in this\nimportant field.
