{"id":19490,"date":"2021-09-27T14:52:57","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T14:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=19490"},"modified":"2021-09-27T14:52:59","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T14:52:59","slug":"piper-aircraft-and-international-aerotech-academy-create-industry-leading-program-to-secure-next-generation-of-amps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/florida\/piper-aircraft-and-international-aerotech-academy-create-industry-leading-program-to-secure-next-generation-of-amps\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Piper Aircraft and International AeroTech Academy Create Industry Leading Program to Secure Next Generation of AMPs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Piper Aircraft and International AeroTech Academy announced\ntoday a joint program to provide Piper with the next generation of aviation\nmaintenance professionals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aviation industry relies on professional maintenance\ntechnicians to ensure aircraft are built to the highest standards, but demand\nfor qualified maintenance technicians will outpace supply as early as 2022.\nCurrent industry forecasts indicate that 739,000 technicians are needed\nglobally, with 192,000 needed in North America alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help meet Piper\u2019s need for skilled team members, the\ncompany is collaborating with International AeroTech Academy to create a\npipeline for qualified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics for Piper\u2019s Vero Beach\nmanufacturing facility. This flow through program is the first of its kind\nbetween the legacy manufacturer and an aircraft maintenance training provider\nand includes a potential job offer prior to beginning the training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited about the new business relationship that we\nare forging with International AeroTech. We are in a unique position to help\nstrengthen the talent pipeline by providing job opportunities at the beginning\nof the student\u2019s education, which we believe will help attract additional\ncandidates to the program and to Piper Aircraft\u201d, said Greg Wendel, Senior\nDirector of Manufacturing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students at International AeroTech Academy will have the\nopportunity to interview with Piper prior to beginning Airframe and Powerplant\nMechanic training. Upon successfully completing the interview Piper will\nprovide students with a conditional letter of employment contingent upon the\nstudents\u2019 successful completion of the AeroTech training program.&nbsp; Following graduation, selected candidates\nwill begin employment at Piper\u2019s aircraft production facility. In addition,\ngraduates will receive a $3,000 signing bonus and an annual tuition\nreimbursement stipend of $2,400 per year for up to ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited to partner with Piper in our new\nAirframe &amp; Powerplant maintenance training academy. The aviation industry\nis now and will continue to experience a severe shortage of qualified\nmaintenance professionals.
