{"id":19423,"date":"2021-09-14T14:53:45","date_gmt":"2021-09-14T14:53:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=19423"},"modified":"2021-09-14T14:53:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T14:53:46","slug":"boca-raton-airport-authority-contributes-25000-to-the-boca-raton-airport-scholarships-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/florida\/boca-raton-airport-authority-contributes-25000-to-the-boca-raton-airport-scholarships-fund\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Boca Raton Airport Authority Contributes $25,000 to the Boca Raton Airport Scholarships Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Photo above &#8211;<\/em>  <em>from left are;\u00c2\u00a0Bob Tucker, Randy Nobles, Cheryl Budd, Jim Nau, and Mel Pollack, Boca Raton Airport Authority Board Members; Clara Bennett, Boca Raton Airport Authority Executive Director; Mr. Timothy Snow, President of the George Snow Scholarship Fund.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 8, 2021, the Boca Raton Airport Authority\nproudly presented a $25,000 contribution to the Boca Raton Airport Scholarship,\nadministered by the George Snow Scholarship Fund. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Boca Raton Airport Scholarship was established in 2017\nand is awarded to Palm Beach County students pursuing careers in aviation and\naerospace. \u201cFor the fifth year in a row, the Board unanimously approved the\nannual contribution of $25,000 to the endowment,\u201d said the Boca Raton Airport\nAuthority Executive Director Clara Bennett. \u201cWe are honored to make a positive\nimpact on deserving local students in our community.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarships will be awarded next year during the George\nSnow Scholarship Fund Annual Awards Reception in June 2022. The Boca Raton\nAirport Authority has contributed to the scholarship fund each year since its\ninception. To date, twelve students have received the Boca Raton Scholarship\nand are attending several universities including the University of Florida,\nEmbry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and\nFlorida Institute of Technology. The average GPA of these high-achieving\nstudents is 3.53. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The George Snow Scholarship Fund, a Boca Raton-based 501(c)\n3 Public Charity, provides educational grants to some of the areas brightest\nand most deserving young scholars.
