{"id":19320,"date":"2021-08-29T20:53:06","date_gmt":"2021-08-29T20:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=19320"},"modified":"2021-08-29T20:53:08","modified_gmt":"2021-08-29T20:53:08","slug":"north-carolina-division-of-aviation-signs-on-with-virginia-fix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-carolina\/north-carolina-division-of-aviation-signs-on-with-virginia-fix\/%20","title":{"rendered":"North Carolina Division of Aviation Signs on With Virginia FIX"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Virginia Department of Aviation has signed the North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Aviation as the first state to collaborate, coordinate and disseminate information as a user of the <a href=\"https:\/\/doav.virginia.gov\/programs-and-services\/aviation-technology\/virginia-flight-information-exchange\/\">Virginia Flight Information Exchange<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NCDOT-Division of Aviation\u2019s plan is to create and develop a\nFIX system for its state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVA-FIX demonstrates great innovation and collaboration\namong state and local governments, industry partners, and the Federal Aviation\nAdministration,\u201d said Secretary of Transportation Shannon Valentine. \u201cVirginia\nwelcomes North Carolina in prioritizing safety as we promote this emerging\nsector of our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Commonwealth of Virginia developed VA-FIX as a platform\nfor state and local government agencies to publish and share Unmanned Aerial\nSystems, or drones, advisory information with each other, UAS Service\nSuppliers, unmanned system operators, and the public to promote transparency\nand public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pilot program, which launched in August 2020 and is the\nfirst of its kind in the industry, is evaluating the benefits of data-sharing;\ninforming thoughtful regulation; and demonstrating a state-supported approach\nto UAS communications and coordination through an Authoritative Supplemental\nData Service Provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited and pleased to welcome North Carolinas\u2019\nDivision of Aviation as a user of VA-FIX,\u201d DOAV Director Mark K.
