For the seventh year in a row, Women in Aviation\nInternational received a $12,500 grant from The International Society of\nTransport Aircraft Training (ISTAT) Foundation, which funds educational\nprograms that advance commercial aviation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As in past years, this grant will be used to expand the\ndistribution of Aviation for Girls magazine with The ISTAT Foundation\nidentified as the sponsor of this year\u2019s issue. With this grant, the number of\ncopies printed will be distributed in both hard copy and digitally. The 2021\nissue of Aviation for Girls will be available digitally to all Women in\nAviation International members and any interested individuals at WAI.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this yearly magazine, girls ages 8 to 17 are\nintroduced to careers in aviation and aerospace. Aviation for Girls is an\nintegral part of Girls in Aviation Day. The print version of Aviation for Girls\nwill be provided to thousands of kids enrolled for the new Aviation for Girls\nApp, and all 7 issues of the magazine are available digitally on the Aviation\nfor Girls App. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The ISTAT Foundation\u2019s support of Aviation for Girls\nas well as our Girls in Aviation Day events puts all the excitement of aviation\nin the hands of kids all around the world. With interesting and informative\ncontent crafted for all age groups, girls can see opportunities that they may\nnever have considered,\u201d says WAI CEO Allison McKay \u201cISTAT has been a consistent\npartner since the inception of Girls in Aviation Day. Their generosity helps\nmake thousands of dreams possible.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISTAT Foundation was founded in 1994 to provide funds\nfor scholarships, educational programs, and grants to qualified individuals and\ninstitutions that promote the advancement of commercial aviation and\nhumanitarianism. The ISTAT Foundation Grants Program, administered by the ISTAT\nFoundation Grants Committee of the ISTAT Foundation Board of Trustees, offers\ndirect grant funding to non-profit [section 501(c)(3) or its equivalent outside\nthe United States] organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WAI chapters, members, and supporters will celebrate Girls\nin Aviation Day on September 25, 2021, during in-person or virtual events as\nlocal health guidance allows. The Aviation for Girls App continues to be\navailable on all app stores for free with new content available September 1,\n2021, for this year\u2019s events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
