Young joined the Oklahoma Aeronautics\nCommission in October 2019 as an Aviation Program Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"182\" height=\"273\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nick-Young-OK.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19221\"\/><figcaption><em>Nick Young<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; As head of the\nDivision, he will be responsible for the agency\u2019s many airport programs\nincluding the 5010 airport safety and standards inspection program at\nOklahoma\u2019s public-use, general aviation airports as well the airport pavement\nmanagement program. Young will also oversee the development and execution of\nthe agency\u2019s 5-year Airport Construction Program (ACP) which provides federal\nand state grant funding for airport infrastructure and updates to the Oklahoma\nAirport System Plan (OASP). &nbsp;Other\nactivities within the Division include airspace zoning reviews and related\npermitting authority in accordance with the Aircraft Pilot and Passenger\nProtection Act (APPPA), overseeing military training airspace regulations\nwithin Title 17, airport grant administration, and outreach for\noperational\/technical support at Oklahoma\u2019s 108 airports within the public\nairport system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Prior to joining\nthe Commission, he served as an Airport Operations Officer for Max Westheimer\nAirport in Norman, OK and Construction Assessment lead for the Oklahoma\nDisaster Recovery Project. Nick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation\nManagement from the University of Oklahoma and Master of Business\nAdministration degree with emphasis in Aerospace Logistics from Southeastern\nOklahoma State University.&nbsp; He is also a\nCertified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nick Young has been named Airports Division Manager for the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission.
