Ryan Latham has been named president of Aerospace Welding\nIncorporated and Aerospace Manufacturing Incorporated (AWI-AMI) aviation\ncompanies within the Hartzell family of companies. He brings more than 25 years\nof manufacturing experience and a proven track record in aerospace leadership\nto the operation located in Eagan, Minn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are pleased that Ryan has assumed the AWI-AMI business\nunit leadership responsibilities,\u201d said Joe Brown, COO of Tailwind\nTechnologies, the holding company of the Hartzell family of companies. \u201cHis\ndirect industry expertise and battle tested leadership as a U.S. Army officer\nin Operation Iraqi Freedom have prepared him for this responsible senior position\nin our family of companies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AWI specializes in welding, bending and fabricating sheet\nmetal and tubing, and it manufactures, repairs and overhauls piston aircraft\nexhaust and engine mounts. AMI specializes in machining and welding, with a\nfocus on bending and welding tube assemblies for jet engines and airframes, in\naddition to metal details for AWI\u2019s exhaust and engine mount business. During his aerospace and manufacturing career, Latham served\nas a plant manager for Howmet Aerospace and as a manager of a Pratt and Whitney\nmanufacturing business unit. At Pratt and Whitney he led a team of jet engine\nspecialists and was operations supervisor for numerous production processes.\nLatham also served as a contracting and logistics officer, deputy fire support\nofficer and a field artillery officer in the army. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He holds a degree in economics from Elon University and has\na master\u2019s in management and leadership from Webster University. Latham has\nalso done post graduate work at Villanova University, including obtaining a Six\nSigma Green Belt certificate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
