The order, which is subject to Surf Air Mobility obtaining\nfinancing, is part of an exclusive relationship between the two companies\nsupporting Surf Air Mobility\u2019s development of electrified Cessna Grand Caravan\naircraft, beginning with a hybrid electric Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft\npowered by Surf Air Mobility\u2019s proprietary powertrain technology.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Textron Aviation\u2019s initial deliveries of the Cessna Grand\nCaravan EX aircraft to Surf Air Mobility, a company accelerating the adoption\nof electric regional air travel, are expected to begin in Q2 2022. Surf Air\nanticipates that its hybrid electric system for the Grand Caravan, upon\ncertification, will power a 9-seat variant of the iconic single-engine\nturboprop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHybrid electric propulsion technology, deployed at scale\nfor environmental and commercial benefits, is an important part of the future\nof travel,\u201d said Ron Draper, President &amp; CEO, Textron Aviation. \u201cThis\nrelationship with Surf Air Mobility leverages the unique performance\ncapabilities of the Cessna Grand Caravan in both passenger and cargo operations\nand continues to demonstrate the aircraft\u2019s adaptability for innovative\nmissions and configurations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hybrid electric Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft is\nanticipated to be utilized by Surf Air Mobility across its own network,\nconnecting more airports with short-haul direct service across the U.S. on a\npath to creating a regional mass transport platform to sustainably connect\ncommunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is an opportunity to showcase the combined expertise\nand technologies of both Textron Aviation and Surf Air Mobility,\u201d said Rob\nScholl, senior vice president, Textron eAviation. \u201cThe outstanding capabilities\nand versatility of the Grand Caravan make it an ideal aircraft to take\nadvantage of this new technology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Cessna Grand Caravan EX is one of the most adaptable\nand prolific aircraft in flight today.
