Customers that have selected GTF-powered aircraft\ninclude Frontier Airlines, Volaris, Air France, Delta Air Lines, and, most\nrecently, AerCap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Pratt-Whitney.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18866\" width=\"403\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Pratt-Whitney.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Pratt-Whitney-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 403px) 100vw, 403px\" \/><figcaption><em>Pratt &amp; Whitney surpassed 800 GTF engine orders in the first half of 2021.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;GTF-powered aircraft are helping to lead the recovery\naround the world, while delivering unmatched fuel efficiency and world-class\nreliability to our customers,&#8221; said Rick Deurloo, chief commercial officer\nand senior vice president at Pratt &amp; Whitney. &#8220;We&#8217;re the only engine\nmaker with a geared fan in service today, and we&#8217;re also leading the industry\nwith the lowest carbon emissions for single-aisle aircraft. We&#8217;re pleased with\nour orders to date and look forward to continuing this momentum throughout the\nyear.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AerCap, the global leader in aircraft leasing, is the\nworld&#8217;s largest A320neo family lessor with over 300 owned, managed and on-order\naircraft. AerCap recently selected Pratt &amp; Whitney GTF\u2122 engines to power 80\nadditional Airbus A320neo and A321neo model aircraft. Deliveries of these\naircraft are currently scheduled between 2021 and 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are committed to providing our airline customers\nwith the most fuel-efficient, advanced technology aircraft in the world,\nhelping them to meet their sustainable goals in a profitable way,&#8221; said\nAengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap. &#8220;We look forward to enhancing our fleet with\nthese GTF engines and working with the team at Pratt &amp; Whitney as the aircraft\ndeliver.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AerCap has placed GTF-powered A320neo family aircraft with\nairlines such as Spirit Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Sichuan Airlines.\nThe lessor previously purchased hundreds of Pratt &amp; Whitney-powered\naircraft, including sizable fleets of Airbus A330 and A320ceo family aircraft;\nBoeing 777, 767 and 757 aircraft; and McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft dating\nback to AerCap&#8217;s roots as ILFC in the 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;AerCap has been a long-time customer of Pratt &amp;\nWhitney, and we&#8217;re pleased with their ongoing commitment to the GTF\nengine,&#8221; said Deurloo. &#8220;These GTF-powered aircraft will deliver\neconomic and environmental value to AerCap and their customers, and we look\nforward to supporting this new fleet.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since entering service in early 2016, the GTF engine family\nhas delivered on its promised ability to reduce fuel burn and carbon emissions\nby up to 20 percent, reduce the noise footprint by 75 percent, and reduce\nregulated emissions by 50 percent to the CAEP\/6 regulatory standard. The\nengine&#8217;s unique geared fan is the right architecture for the future with a long\nrunway for further development.
