{"id":18824,"date":"2021-07-11T21:14:58","date_gmt":"2021-07-11T21:14:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=18824"},"modified":"2021-07-11T21:15:00","modified_gmt":"2021-07-11T21:15:00","slug":"memphis-shelby-county-airport-authority-promotes-michael-fulton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/tennessee\/memphis-shelby-county-airport-authority-promotes-michael-fulton\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority Promotes Michael Fulton"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has\npromoted Michael Fulton to the position of Director of Government Affairs and\nBusiness Diversity Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his new role, Fulton is responsible for the overall\nleadership of MSCAA\u2019s Business Diversity Development (BDD) functions, which are\ndesigned to increase opportunities for minority-owned, woman-owned, and local\nsmall businesses. Fulton is also responsible for managing the governmental\naffairs functions for the airport, maintaining relationships with government\nofficials or their key staff and providing oversight of local, state and\nfederal initiatives. He will report to MSCAA President and CEO Scott Brockman\nand his promotion was effective on July 1, 2021. Fulton joined MSCAA in June\n2017 as Government Affairs Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMichael has been an integral part of the MSCAA leadership\nteam for more than four years,\u201d said Scott Brockman, MSCAA President and CEO.\n\u201cWe will rely heavily on his expertise to lead our government affairs and BDD\ninitiatives, which are essential to fueling local economic growth.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fulton has more than 14 years of experience in government\nand government affairs, including serving as Senior Legislative Assistant for\nU.S. Congressman Steve Cohen. As the Congressman\u2019s primary advisor on the House\nTransportation and Infrastructure Committee work, Fulton provided strategic\nguidance on aviation, highway, transit and rail policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University,\nwhere he received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Political Science.\nFulton serves on several local boards including the Memphis Area Transit\nAuthority (MATA), Seeding Success, and the Government Affairs and Regional\nLogistics Council for the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce.
