{"id":18696,"date":"2021-06-21T22:00:32","date_gmt":"2021-06-21T22:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=18696"},"modified":"2021-06-21T22:00:35","modified_gmt":"2021-06-21T22:00:35","slug":"aaae-act-program-delivers-innovative-public-health-financing-and-facility-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/virginia\/aaae-act-program-delivers-innovative-public-health-financing-and-facility-solutions\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AAAE ACT Program Delivers Innovative Public Health, Financing, and Facility Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The American Association of Airport Executives\u2019 recently\ncreated Airport Consortium on Customer Trust (ACT) Program, comprised of\ninnovative airport leaders and aviation industry experts, is making available\nto the aviation community its in-depth analysis, research, and actionable\nsolutions for health enhancements, facility upgrades, and financial recovery in\nthe wake of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AAAE\u2019s ACT Program \u2013 through its Working Groups led by\nairport leaders and the Program\u2019s expert corporate members \u2013 has released its\ninitial in-depth analysis and research spanning six key areas important to\nrecovery and building passenger trust in the travel experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Airbridges, Health Screening, and COVID-19\nTesting<\/li><li>Finance and Revenue Generating Innovations<\/li><li>HVAC and Indoor Air Quality<\/li><li>Terminal and Passenger Facility Design<\/li><li>Touchless and Self-Service Technology<\/li><li>Virtual Queuing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These focus areas were chosen by the ACT Program\u2019s leading\nairport CEOs specifically to serve air travel well beyond the pandemic. In\nfact, in many areas, the pandemic serves as a catalyst for innovation that will\nnoticeably improve the air travel experience at airports around the country.\nFor instance, automated queues and wayfinding and biometrically enabled\ntransactions will continue to evolve and make the airport experience more\nseamless and efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, ACT members are shaping the future of airports by\ntesting new solutions and services and sharing results to learn what works \u2013\nand what does not \u2013 to build passenger trust, confidence, and excitement as\nthey return to airports. Moving forward, the ACT Program will continue to bring\nother innovations and collaborations to the travel experience in the months to\ncome as we move beyond pandemic recovery and focus on enhancing the travel\nexperience broadly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Program participants are now exploring urban air mobility,\nenvironmental sustainability, and infrastructure resiliency to include electric\npower delivery. Interested organizations are encouraged to contact AAAE to get\ninvolved, learn more about what has been done, and where things are headed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAirports are committed to coming out of the pandemic with\nenhanced facilities, processes, and technology to better serve the traveling\npublic and restore passenger confidence,\u201d AAAE President &amp; CEO Todd Hauptli\nsaid. \u201cLed by innovative airport executives, the ACT Program has moved our\nindustry significantly forward through in-depth analysis, tested solutions, and\neffective partnerships \u2013 a model that is already producing results and will\ncontinue to do so well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAAAE\u2019s ACT Program brings together our country\u2019s most\ninnovative airports, partners, and experts to identify critical gaps and\nopportunities, develop approaches to address them, influence industry\nstakeholders in a call to action, and pilot new technology,\u201d said Justin\nErbacci, CEO, Los Angeles World Airports. \u201cI am very pleased that in a short time\nsince inception, we already are seeing concrete results from this consortium.\nThe COVID-19 pandemic has added urgency to this need to collaborate, so we can\nspeed up the recovery through quick and informed action and a reimagining of\nAmerica\u2019s airports.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAviation, as both an economic generator and a means of\nconnecting with family and friends, is more important now than ever before,\u201d\nsaid Jenny Buckley, Principal and Arup\u2019s Americas Aviation Leader. \u201cDecisions\nwe make today will positively shape the passenger experience well beyond the\npandemic.
