This marks a new phase for IS-BAH\u2122\nstandards with Lemma\u2019s selection representing the first African board member to\nbe appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dawit_Lemma_becomes_first_African_IS-BAH_Standards_Board_Member-edit-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18587\" width=\"234\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dawit_Lemma_becomes_first_African_IS-BAH_Standards_Board_Member-edit-2.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dawit_Lemma_becomes_first_African_IS-BAH_Standards_Board_Member-edit-2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><figcaption><em> Dawit Lemma becomes first African IS-BAH\u2122 Standards Board Member. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>With seven of the world\u2019s fastest growing economies\noccurring in Africa, complying with international business aviation standards\nis essential for gaining operator confidence when flying to the continent.\nPutting Africa on the business aviation map and ensuring its nations are ready\nto meet the pending needs are among Lemma\u2019s goals in this new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs we have worked to grow Krimson, we have worked\nsimultaneously to grow both the physical infrastructure and the quality\nstandards for business aviators flying to Africa. African destinations are\nbecoming increasingly popular for business travelers, and we want their\nexperience here to be on par with their other travel experiences. I\u2019m honored\nto represent Africa on the IS-BAH\u2122 Standards Board. I look forward to spreading\nthe word about all we have to offer and to bringing home best practices that\ncan be deployed across the continent. Africa is perfectly poised for growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lemma says his objectives are to promote and create\nawareness about IS-BAH on the continent and increase the number of certified\nhandlers. The move to IS-BAH\u2122 certification will increase safety and overall\nservice standards of business aviation ground handling on the continent. \u201cI am\nbringing expertise and knowledge of the African continent, and I hope to\nleverage this insight to break up misperceptions. I want members of the IS-BAH\u2122\nStandards Board, and IBAC at large, to understand that African bizav is on the\nrise and that we are \u2018open for business.\u2019 I am confident we will begin a ripple\neffect of raising standards which is our goal,\u201d added Lemma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lemma founded Krimson Aviation in 2015. He is a Swiss\ncitizen of Ethiopian origin, and he has lived and\/or worked all over the world;\nfrom Zambia to Afghanistan, the USA to Switzerland &#8211; making him a true global\ncitizen. He returned to Ethiopia in 2012, after almost 30 years abroad, as he\nrecognized the thriving potential and opportunities being offered by Ethiopia\u2019s\neconomic resurgence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDawit\u2019s unsurpassed knowledge of business aviation, the\ninternational climate, his attention to detail and the opportunities and\nchallenges of operating in Africa make him an excellent choice for the IS-BAH\u2122\nStandards Board. He is going to add tremendous value and bring a new voice and\nperspective to the table.
