{"id":18482,"date":"2021-05-19T12:37:48","date_gmt":"2021-05-19T12:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=18482"},"modified":"2021-05-19T12:37:50","modified_gmt":"2021-05-19T12:37:50","slug":"american-airlines-to-launch-service-from-asheville-regional-airport-to-boston-chicago-and-washington-d-c-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-carolina\/american-airlines-to-launch-service-from-asheville-regional-airport-to-boston-chicago-and-washington-d-c-in-june\/%20","title":{"rendered":"American Airlines to Launch Service from Asheville Regional Airport to Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C. in June"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>American Airlines and Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) are\ngrowing together again!&nbsp;&nbsp;In anticipation of increasing interest in\ntravel to the Asheville area, American is launching new daily nonstop service\nto Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) as well as new Saturday\nservice to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Chicago O\u2019Hare\nInternational Airport (ORD) in time for summer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Service to DCA begins June 3 and will operate through Sept.\n7. Flights to BOS and ORD both begin June 5, and will operate through Nov. 6\nand Sept. 4, respectively.&nbsp;&nbsp;All flights will be operated on regional\naircraft equipped with 76 seats in a two-cabin configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the addition of these new routes, American will operate\na record of 12 peak day flights at AVL.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JetBlue and American have announced plans for the next phase of their Northeast Alliance \u2013 authorized by the U.S. Department of Transportation earlier this year \u2013 which is aimed at giving travelers in the northeast new competitive choices. This will bring seasonal service to Boston on jetBlue beginning in the Summer of 2022.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAmerican continues to show significant commitment to the\nwestern North Carolina market,\u201d said Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., Executive Director\nof the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority.&nbsp; \u201cIt is exciting to\nwelcome these new routes this summer, which are great new options for\ntravelers. The connectivity American offers is very important to the quality\nair service available at AVL, and I thank them for their amazing partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs more customers look for opportunities to get away and\nexplore the great outdoors, American is eager to expand travel options to the\nAsheville region,\u201d said Brian Znotins, Vice President of Network Schedule and\nPlanning for American. \u201cIn-airport and on board, our team has taken every\neffort to ensure the well-being of customers throughout their travels while\noffering more flexibility and choice than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American\noffers nonstop flights from AVL to:&nbsp;&nbsp;Charlotte, N.C. (5-7 daily\ndepartures), Chicago, Ill. (Saturdays, summer seasonal), Dallas-Fort Worth, Tx.\n(twice daily), and Washington, D.C.
