Nicholas Hinchley, CPA, CFE, has been named the Metropolitan\nAirports Commission\u2019s (MAC\u2019s) new finance director following a national search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hinchley has served as the MAC\u2019s interim finance director\nsince April 2020. Before that, he worked as accounting and finance manager for\nmore than seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis past year has been a very challenging time financially\nfor the air transportation industry, including airports, and we will experience\nmore challenging years before we see a full recovery from the pandemic,\u201d said\nTim Simon, vice president of Finance and Revenue Development at the MAC. \u201cNick has done a fantastic job as interim\ndirector for the past year, managing the budget, activity forecasts and revenue\nprojections and ensuring the organization maintained a positive cash flow. His\nexperience, dedication and leadership will serve the organization well as the\nindustry recovers and we focus on operational and capital needs that had to be\ndelayed due to the pandemic\u2019s impact on airport revenues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hinchley said, \u201cI am excited for the opportunity to build on\nthe incredible resiliency, collaboration and ingenuity MAC staff has shown\nduring the pandemic, focusing on the success of the organization and the\nstability of our stakeholders and partners. We must continue to manage the\nMAC\u2019s resources wisely, providing funding for safe, efficient operations as\nwell as maintenance, rehabilitation and development of facilities for returning\npassengers and future growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the MAC, Hinchley oversees a 2021 operating budget of\nmore than $300 million and a seven-year capital improvement program budget\nexceeding $2 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining the MAC in 2013, Hinchely worked as\nassistant controller at MLT Inc. and as audit manager at Boulay, P.L.L.P.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
