Textron Aviation has turned to an aviation legend and\nfounding member of the Beechcraft brand to commemorate a milestone for one of\nits most iconic aircraft. The company today announced a special edition 75th\nanniversary option for its Beechcraft Bonanza G36 single-engine piston aircraft,\ndistinguished by its custom interior and paint scheme inspired by Olive Ann\nBeech\u2019s signature blue color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beechcraft Bonanza G36 is designed and manufactured by\nTextron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The order book is open for the limited-edition model that\nwill deliver in 2022 \u2013 the 75th year since it first entered the market for the\nlongest continuously produced aircraft in history. The Beechcraft Bonanza\ncontinues to be a cornerstone of the company\u2019s leadership in the piston market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 18,000 Bonanza aircraft have entered the market\nsince deliveries began, 15 years after Walter and Olive Ann started Beech\nAircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe retro scheme of our 75th anniversary special edition\nBonanza is a nod to Mrs. Beech\u2019s strength, vision, pioneering leadership and\nher well-documented style,\u201d O\u2019Bannion said. \u201cThe interior color combination is\ninspired by trends from the 1950s, when Mrs. Beech assumed leadership of the\ncompany.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olive Ann became president in 1950 upon Walter\u2019s death,\nmaking her the first woman to head a major aircraft company. Her legendary\ncareer spanned 50 years and by the time she retired in 1982, she\u2019d played key\nroles in growing the company from 10 to 10,000 employees and made an impact on\nthe aviation industry in numerous ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 75th anniversary special edition Beechcraft Bonanza G36\nis inspired by \u201cMrs. Beech Blue,\u201d a custom color Olive Ann adopted on the\nadvice of fashion designer Oleg Cassini. The color became her brand and could\nbe found on everything from her dress suits and office furnishings to her\nautomobile\u2019s paint and personal aircraft interiors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The commemorative Bonanza G36 stylishly incorporates the\ncolor on the exterior paint scheme and the interior\u2019s window panels, carpet and\naccents. The seat upholstery lines, and sidewall\/table contours add a sporty,\nmodern interest to the retro color palette. Other details include a \u201cBubble B\u201d\nlogo registered in 1954 on the carpet entry and her signature used as a metal\npiece above the cabin table and as an exterior graphic below the pilot window.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
