His experience working for\ncomplex public and private sector entities will help to inform his leadership\nof the SMC in 2021,\u201d said T.J. Schulz, President of the Airports Consultants\nCouncil (ACC), the host organization for the SMC. The SMC is focused on\nadvocacy priorities that impact the transportation security industry and the\ntraveling public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schmidt is currently Vice President, Government Relations\nfor Smiths Group and brings unique experience to the position having also\nserved as a House Intelligence Committee staffer and a Department of Homeland\nSecurity senior official in the George W. Bush administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe SMC membership is proud to advance and deploy security\ntechnology for protecting the American people,\u201d said Chairman Schmidt. \u201cWe will\ncontinue to reinforce the long-term funding challenges for our government\ncustomers as they work to secure the free flow of commerce and Americans\ntravel. The safety of the American people is even more critical to our economy\nas we begin to recover from the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SMC Vice Chair LeeAnn Levesque joined Analogic in 2020.\nLeeAnn has over 25 years of domestic and international business development and\nexecutive management experience in diverse industries such as\ntelecommunications, homeland security, defense, and aerospace. Prior to joining\nthe company, she was Vice President, Business Development, Defense\/Aerospace\/Space\/Security\nat Sanmina Corporation, a global manufacturing organization.
