The Dee Howard Foundation was founded to build on the legacy of\nlegendary aviation pioneer and entrepreneur Dee Howard by preserving the rich\nhistory of aviation in San Antonio of which Dee was part, and to build and\nexpand on that history for current and future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We seek to inspire, challenge and empower innovators in\nthese fields while helping to train a skilled workforce for the San Antonio,\nTexas region while being open to expanding our programming beyond this region\nin the future. Our educational focus is primarily on Pre-K thru 12 underserved\nstudents and first-generation college students through the DHF Pre-K thru 12\nAeronautical STEM Pathway Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DHF&#8217;s Primary Focus &#8211; Aviation and Aerospace &#8211; San Antonio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goals related to Primary Focus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Create jobs<\/li><li>Provide a skilled workforce to fill those jobs<\/li><li>Stimulate invention, development, manufacture\nand installation of innovative, cutting edge technology<\/li><li>Preserve the history of aviation (civil and\nmilitary) and aerospace in San Antonio.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Position Summary: Under the policy direction of The Dee\nHoward Foundation (DHF) Board of Directors, performs a wide range of difficult\nto complex management activities related to planning, marketing and promotion,\nPR and Social Media, staffing and personnel operations, finances and\naccounting, and other activities that serve to support the mission. Uses\nconsiderable independent judgment and leadership in decisions that influence\noperations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Responsible for oversight of all staff, programming areas,\nand relationships with schools and school districts, donors, other educational\ninstitutions, and community partners. Provides vision and direction to the\ndevelopment of DHF and advises and assists the Board of Directors in planning,\npolicy, and operations matters. Responsible for upholding and furthering the\nmission and values of The Dee Howard Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports to: Board of Directors<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Classification: Exempt status<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Effective Date: 18 March 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salary Range: $60,000 &#8211; $90,000 depending on prior\nexperience<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Job\/Position Requirements and Experience \u2013 Passion for and\nexperience with education and workforce development, particularly STEM and\naviation\/aerospace-related disciplines. Develops and maintains connections with\naviation\/aerospace private and military industry and other STEM and aviation\/\naerospace engineering education and workforce development organizations. Passion\nfor youth development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leadership\u2013 Model The Dee Howard Foundation\u2019s core values:\nthe relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation in developing youth into\nthe engineering, scientific, and business leaders of tomorrow. Grows the\norganization\u2019s impact, overseeing the implementation of the strategic plan and\nprogramming in cooperation with the Board and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Program Management \u2013 Serves as Chief Program Officer for the\norganization. Develops new program concepts in collaboration with staff and\ncommunity partners in accordance with DHF\u2019s strategic direction. Establishes\nand effectively executes an annual operating plan that strengthens\norganizational success and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resource Development \u2013 Works with the Board to seek\nopportunities for funding through donations, sponsorships, grants, and other\nsources of revenue. Oversees strategy for raising funds for current budget,\nprogram expansion, and endowment. Develops and maintains a donor base for both\nmonetary and non-monetary resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Community and Public Relations \u2013 Develops and maintains\nrelationships with all appropriate community groups, agencies, funders, public\nand private organizations, and all educational agencies to help achieve the\ngoals of the organization. Ensures information releases to appropriate\nstakeholders to increase public awareness and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agency Administration and Operations \u2013 Serves as Chief\nOperating Officer of the organization. Directs the development and\nimplementation of corporate goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.\nDirects and ensures proper coordination of all administrative affairs. Provides\nfiscal oversight and budgeting of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Board of Directors \u2013 Keeps Board apprised of DHF operations,\nchanges, and problems in a regular and timely manner. Prepares and submits to\nthe Board reports of finances, staffing, programs, and other administrative\nactivities. Provides strategic and capacity plan oversight. Prepares agenda and\ndocuments, attends and participates in Board meetings to receive general\ndirection.
