Department of Transportation\u2019s State Art Contest\nearlier this year, winning students\u2019 paintings were sent on to the national\ncompetition hosted by the National Association of State Aviation Officials in\nWashington, D.C. Their art will now be sent to Switzerland to compete in the\nF\u00e9d\u00e9ration A\u00e9ronautique Internationale\u2019s International Art Competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning students this year are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kyndall Anthony of Kannapolis, Forest Park\nElementary (3rd Place, Junior Category)<\/li><li>Anish Upadhyaya of Cary, Alston Ridge Middle\n(1st Place, Intermediate Category)<\/li><li>Ava Lanzy of Indian Trail, Wesley Chapel Elementary\n(3rd Place, Intermediate Category) <\/li><li>Amy Lee of Cary, Panther Creek High (2nd Place,\nSenior Category)<\/li><li>Isabel Chang of Cary, Cary Academy (3rd Place,\nSenior Category)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Two students from N.C. advanced to the international round\nin each of the previous two contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s theme was \u201cA Friendlier World with Air Sports.\u201d NCDOT received 764 entries from 137 schools and 124 hometowns. A total of 8,362 students have participated in the N.C. Aviation Art Contest since 2016.
