{"id":18053,"date":"2021-03-27T20:19:29","date_gmt":"2021-03-27T20:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=18053"},"modified":"2021-03-27T20:26:02","modified_gmt":"2021-03-27T20:26:02","slug":"nasao-announces-national-aviation-art-contest-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/aviation-education\/nasao-announces-national-aviation-art-contest-winners\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NASAO Announces National Aviation Art Contest Winners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Photo above &#8211; Senior Category, 1st Place by Alison Wan of Virginia. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners for the 2021 U.S. Youth Aviation Art Contest\nhave been selected by the contest\u2019s managing organization, National Association\nof State Aviation Officials (NASAO), in partnership with National Aeronautic\nAssociation (NAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/51062962083_3bd75373ae_kedit-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18058\" width=\"234\" height=\"363\"\/><figcaption><em> Intermediate Category, 2nd Place &#8211; Chu Xl Sheng &#8211; Virginia <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual contest is part of a larger international effort\nto inspire youth to illustrate the importance of aviation through art. Contest\nsubmissions are grouped into three separate age categories for judging,\nallowing students ranging from 6 \u2013 17 years old to compete. The 2021 theme, is\n\u201cA Friendlier World with Air Sports\u201d which encouraged students to create\nartwork that captures a friendlier world that comes from people meeting and\nsharing their love of sport aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To qualify for the U.S. national contest, all artwork was\nfirst submitted into state-level competitions, with the winning entries\nforwarded to NASAO for national award consideration. This year, NASAO received\nover 120 pieces of art from 15 participating states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national winners have been submitted into the International Contest, which will be judged in June by FAI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Junior Category:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st Place: Grace Sun- New Jersey, Age 9<\/li><li>2nd Place: Nithin Metha- Nebraska, Age 9<\/li><li>3rd Place: Kyndall Anthony- North Carolina, Age\n10<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Intermediate Category:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st Place: Anish Upadhyaya- North Carolina, Age\n13<\/li><li>2nd Place: Chu Xl Sheng- Virginia, Age 12<\/li><li>3rd Place: Ava Lanzy- North Carolina, Age 13<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senior Category:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st Place: Allison Wan- Virginia, Age 16<\/li><li>2nd Place: Amy Lee- North Carolina, Age 17<\/li><li>3rd Place: Isabel Chang- North Carolina, Age 15<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to the 2021 U.S. national winners!
