{"id":18009,"date":"2021-03-20T21:38:25","date_gmt":"2021-03-20T21:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=18009"},"modified":"2021-03-20T21:38:27","modified_gmt":"2021-03-20T21:38:27","slug":"aopa-and-foreflight-team-up-to-reward-pilots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/aopa-and-foreflight-team-up-to-reward-pilots\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AOPA and Foreflight Team Up to Reward Pilots"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and ForeFlight, a Boeing company, are teaming up this spring to encourage and reward pilots to get out and safely support local airports and FBOs through the <a href=\"https:\/\/foreflight.com\/campaigns\/fly-out\/\">ForeFlight Fly-Out program<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each month beginning in April, AOPA and ForeFlight will\nhighlight a different region of the country and feature fun places to visit.\nDuring April, we feature the South in partnership with the following\nparticipating locations:&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Island Jet Center, Scholes International at\nGalveston Airport in Galveston, Texas <\/li><li>Texas Jet, Fort Worth Meacham International\nAirport in Fort Worth, Texas <\/li><li>Henriksen Jet Center, Austin Executive Airport\nin Austin, Texas <\/li><li>Signature Flight Support, Savannah\/Hilton Head\nInternational Airport in Savannah, Georgia <\/li><li>Million Air, Chennault International Airport in\nLake Charles, Louisiana <\/li><li>Branson Jet Center, Branson Airport in Branson,\nMissouri <\/li><li>Francis Aviation, Dona Ana County International\nJetport Airport in Santa Teresa, New Mexico <\/li><li>Sun Aviation, Vero Beach Regional Airport in\nVero Beach, Florida <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pilots who check-in at these locations during the month of\nApril will be able to pick up free, cool ForeFlight gear and also be entered\nfor a chance to win a monthly and grand prize. (Check out ForeFlight\u2019s official\nrules here.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur number one goal with this program is to get folks out\nflying!\u201d said Stephen Newman, ForeFlight\u2019s executive vice president of global\nsales and marketing. \u201cThe flying season has already started across the south,\nand the ForeFlight Fly-Out will provide a fun, educational, socially distanced\nopportunity for people to fly and help support local economies and small\nairports\/FBOs.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to partnering on the ForeFlight Fly-Outs, AOPA\nwill continue to offer monthly prizes for checking into airports using the AOPA\napp\u2019s Pilot Passport feature. AOPA&#8217;s April \u201cSee Green\u201d Pilot Passport challenge\nencourages pilots to check-in at airports with grass strips. The three\nparticipants with the most grass strip airport check-ins in April will be\nawarded a PJ2 radio from Sporty\u2019s Pilot Shop. Check out the official rules\nhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AOPA will offer a different challenge each month, giving\nactive pilots even more chances to win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAOPA is excited to partner with ForeFlight to reward pilots\nwho support their local communities,\u201d said Jiri Marousek, AOPA senior vice\npresident of marketing. \u201cOur shared mission is to encourage more pilots to fly\nmore often and to more places.
