{"id":17967,"date":"2021-03-15T20:31:51","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T20:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=17967"},"modified":"2021-03-15T20:31:52","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T20:31:52","slug":"falcon-6x-completes-maiden-flight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/falcon-6x-completes-maiden-flight\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Falcon 6X Completes Maiden Flight"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dassault Aviation announced that the company\u2019s widebody\nFalcon 6X has successfully completed its first flight as planned in the first quarter\nof 2021, demonstrating the maturity of the program and opening the test\ncampaign for certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s flight is another milestone in Dassault history,\nmade all the more satisfying by the remarkable efforts of the entire Dassault\norganization and its partners over the challenging past year,\u201d said Dassault\nAviation Chairman\/CEO Eric Trappier. \u201cWe dedicate today\u2019s achievement to\nOlivier Dassault, who died tragically on Sunday,\u201d continued Trappier. \u201cOlivier was\na Falcon pilot who perfectly embodied his family\u2019s boundless passion for aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/First-Flight-6X-DA00043299_Sedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17968\" width=\"290\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/First-Flight-6X-DA00043299_Sedit.jpg 700w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/First-Flight-6X-DA00043299_Sedit-300x163.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe 6X is the latest example of the fusion of military\nknow-how and business aviation expertise for which Dassault Aviation is so\nrespected,\u201d added Trappier. \u201cThe new capabilities in efficiency, performance\nand safety it offers will set a new benchmark in the long-range segment. This\nairplane will also set a new standard in terms of cabin comfort and spaciousness,\nas demanded by our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With test pilots Bruno Ferry and Fabrice Valette at its\ncontrols, aircraft 6X s\/n 01 lifted off from Dassault Aviation\u2019s M\u00e9rignac plant\nnear Bordeaux at 2:45 PM. This about two-hour-thirty maiden flight was executed\nper the test plan, with pilots testing aircraft handling qualities, engine\nresponse and the behavior of key aircraft systems. The aircraft topped out at\n40,000 ft and reached a speed of M0.8 before returning to its base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe 6X flew exactly as predicted by our models. From a\npilot\u2019s perspective, it flies like a Falcon, which is to say with perfect\nprecise handling in all phases of flight,\u201d said Ferry. \u201cFabrice and I are\nhonored to have made the latest first flight in another fantastic Falcon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serial number 01\u2019s next flight will combine test activities\nwith a hop to Istres, near Marseilles, where the Dassault flight test center is\nlocated and the bulk of the testing program will take place.
