{"id":17936,"date":"2021-03-09T14:02:27","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T14:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=17936"},"modified":"2021-03-09T14:02:29","modified_gmt":"2021-03-09T14:02:29","slug":"city-of-phoenix-aviation-department-recognized-for-its-commitment-to-clean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/arizona\/city-of-phoenix-aviation-department-recognized-for-its-commitment-to-clean\/%20","title":{"rendered":"City of Phoenix Aviation Department Recognized for Its Commitment to Clean"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The City of Phoenix Aviation Department has announced that\nit has been recognized in the GBAC STAR\u2122 Facility Accreditation Program.\nPhoenix Sky Harbor, Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear airports have all\nreceived this accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince the pandemic started, the world has come to realize\nthe significance and importance of proper cleaning and disinfection to protect\nour health,\u201d said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. \u201cTo receive this distinction is a\ntestament to our team\u2019s commitment to making sure our travelers, operators,\nairlines, concessionaires, tenants and business partners have the safest\nenvironment possible when interacting with us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Global Biorisk Advisory Council\u2019s GBAC STAR\u2122 facility\naccreditation program is an outbreak prevention, response, and recovery\naccreditation for facilities. It represents a high level of achievement within\nthe cleaning industry, including 20 components that a facility must meet in\norder to achieve this accreditation. Facilities must also demonstrate that they\nhave established and maintained a cleaning and disinfecting program to minimize\nrisks of infectious diseases; have employed the proper protocols to clean and\ndisinfect facilities; and have staff who are trained for outbreak and infectious\ndisease preparation and response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/1_Sky_Harbor_Exterior-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17938\" width=\"295\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1_Sky_Harbor_Exterior-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1_Sky_Harbor_Exterior-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1_Sky_Harbor_Exterior.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMeeting the highest industry standards is a commitment that\nPhoenix\u2019s airports consistently work to achieve,\u201d said Vice Mayor Thelda\nWilliams, Chair of the Transportation, Infrastructure and Innovation\nSubcommittee. \u201cEarning the GBAC STAR\u2122 accreditation is the gold standard in a\nperformance-based program and it demonstrates our commitment to safety and\npreparedness as we build confidence with our passengers, customers and\nemployees in our facilities and procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Phoenix Sky Harbor,\nPhoenix Deer Valley, and Phoenix Goodyear airports have employed a number of\ninitiatives to ensure a safe, welcoming and healthy environment for those\ncoming through the airports.
