{"id":17834,"date":"2021-02-27T20:02:12","date_gmt":"2021-02-27T20:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=17834"},"modified":"2021-02-27T20:02:14","modified_gmt":"2021-02-27T20:02:14","slug":"gama-applauds-introduction-of-advanced-air-mobility-legislation-in-u-s-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/gama-applauds-introduction-of-advanced-air-mobility-legislation-in-u-s-house\/%20","title":{"rendered":"GAMA Applauds Introduction of Advanced Air Mobility Legislation in U.S. House"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) praised the introduction of the Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-bill\/1339?\">H.R. 1339<\/a>) by Representatives Sharice Davids (D-Kansas) and Garret Graves (R-Louisiana) in the U.S. House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAdvanced Air Mobility is an emerging sector of the aviation\nindustry which has the potential to facilitate new transportation options,\ncreate jobs and economic activity, advance environmental sustainability and new\ntechnologies, and support emergency preparedness and competitiveness,\u201d said\nGAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce. \u201cThe Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and\nLeadership Act goes well beyond the good work the FAA is doing to certify and\nbuild the operational regulatory framework to introduce electric aircraft into\nthe national airspace system.&nbsp; This\nlegislation would facilitate the Department of Transportation\u2019s coordination of\nall federal departments and agencies with industry and other stakeholders to\nhelp realize the enormous potential and broad societal benefits of this rapidly\ndeveloping and transformative aviation sector. We applaud House Transportation\nand Infrastructure Aviation Subcommittee leaders, Representatives Davids and\nGraves, for introducing this important legislation to accelerate the\ndevelopment of this exciting cutting edge industrial technology sector.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act\nauthorizes the Secretary of Transportation to establish an interagency working\ngroup to plan for and coordinate efforts for the advancement of operating\nadvanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft.
