Hilton Foundation Grant to Fund Additional WAI Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Women in Aviation International (WAI) is thrilled to offer\n47 new scholarships in a variety of aviation career pursuits thanks to a\ngenerous $250,000 grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Details of the\nscholarships will be posted at WAI.org on March 1, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/women-in-aviation.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17779\" width=\"200\" height=\"91\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/women-in-aviation.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/women-in-aviation-300x136.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarships include funding to further members\u2019 interests\nin air traffic control, aviation maintenance, flight training, helicopter\nratings, and space. New to this round of scholarships are four scholarships,\neach worth $3,000 for WAI Chapter members outside of the United States, to be\napplied towards completion of an additional flight certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWAI is very grateful for the support of the Conrad N.\nHilton Foundation to support these additional scholarships for our members and\nhonor the legacy of Barron Hilton\u2019s love of aviation,\u201d Allison McKay, WAI CEO\nsays. \u201cWe know that scholarships change lives, and our members truly appreciate\nthis financial support to pursue their aviation dreams.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the additional 2021 Spring Scholarships, total WAI\nscholarships awarded in 2021 are valued at over $731,800, and more than $14\nmillion since 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winners of the 2021 Spring Scholarships will be notified by\nJuly 1, 2021 with funds disbursed by August 1, 2021. In order to qualify for a\nscholarship, the applicant must be an active WAI member through March 2022.\nApplications for the 2021 Spring Scholarships are due May 18, 2021.
