Department of Transportation Division of\nAviation.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe skill and creativity on display here is spectacular,\u201d\nsaid Boyette, who judged the contest during a visit to the Division of Aviation\nHangar on Friday. \u201cI\u2019m glad these students got the chance to showcase their\nartistic talents and love of aviation despite what\u2019s been a tough year for\nmany.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All students who live in or attend school in North Carolina\nand were born between Jan. 1, 2003 and Dec. 31, 2014 were eligible to\nparticipate by submitting their own artwork. Prizes for the top three works\nwill be awarded to the artist and the artist\u2019s school in three age groups:\njunior (ages 6-9), intermediate (10-13), and senior (14-17). Judges determine\nwinners in each category based on creativity, artistic skill, and adherence to\nthe theme. This year\u2019s theme was &#8216;A Friendlier World with Air Sports.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The North Carolina winners will be announced in the coming\nweeks, and their work forwarded to Washington, D.C. to be judged in the\nNational Aviation Art Contest. The national winners\u2019 artwork will go on to the\nF\u00e9d\u00e9ration A\u00e9ronautique Internationale\u2019s headquarters in Switzerland for\ninternational judging. Two NC Students advanced to the international round in\neach of the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information about the 2021 North Carolina Aviation Art Contest can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncdot.gov\/initiatives-policies\/students-youth\/aviation-art-contest\/Pages\/contest-rules.aspx\">Division of Aviation\u2019s website<\/a>.
