The\ngeneral aviation airport serves business and leisure travelers in three rural,\nTier One counties: Bertie, Hertford and Northampton. The $1.79 million project\nreplaced an aging structure, built in 1979, and was funded with state and\nfederal grants provided through the Division of Aviation\u2019s grant programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/file2-11edit-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17699\" width=\"318\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/file2-11edit-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/file2-11edit-1-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Local businesses donated interior design, wall plaques and\nfurnishings to save taxpayer dollars.
