As executive director, he will direct the administration,\noperations and development of Southwest Florida International Airport and Page\nField in Fort Myers, Fla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ben-Siegel-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17553\" width=\"129\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ben-Siegel-edit.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ben-Siegel-edit-201x300.jpg 201w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 129px) 100vw, 129px\" \/><figcaption><em>Ben Siegel<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI look forward to working with the board and the outstanding team of professionals at Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field,\u201d said Siegel, executive director of the Lee County Port Authority. \u201cI am excited about the opportunity to enhance infrastructure, manage growth and improve the guest experience, as well as work with our community leaders to promote travel, new business and tourism in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siegel has been with the Lee County Port Authority since\n1992 and most recently served as the acting executive director. Under his\nleadership, the Lee County Port Authority finance team secured $327 million for\nRSW\u2019s Midfield Terminal Complex, which was one of the largest issuances of\nfinancing in Lee County history. Current projects under his oversight are the\nAirport Traffic Control Tower and the Terminal Expansion Project at Southwest\nFlorida International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siegel holds a Bachelor of Science in business\nadministration from the University of South Florida and is a Certified Public\nAccountant. He is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives,\nas well as a member of the Florida Airports Council, Airports Council\nInternational-North America, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants\nand the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Siegel is an\nexecutive committee member of the Horizon Council, a local public-private\nadvisory board for economic development issues. He is also on the executive\nleadership team for the American Heart Association-Lee Heart Walk, was past\nchair of the 2018 Lee Heart Walk, and is a member of the executive committee\nfor Healthy Lee, an organization that promotes corporate wellness and healthier\nlifestyles in Lee County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 5.9\nmillion passengers in 2020 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger\ntraffic. Page Field provides services to corporate, commercial and private\naviators and accommodated more than 126,000 aircraft operations in 2020.
