The term \u2018legend\u2019 only applies to a select band of aviators.\nItalian pilot, Luca Bertossio is one of the most skilled, successful and young\ncompetition pilots of modern times. At 30 years old Luca has won 18 FAI medals\nfor glider aerobatics, seven of these were Gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 2021, Luca Bertossio has chosen Trig Avionics to equip\nhis high-performance gliders. Luca will fly with a Trig TT21 transponder and\nTN72 GPS system, providing Mode S and ADS-B Out capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luca explained, \u201cI wanted my gliders to be visible to air\ntraffic control and other aircraft, in the skies around Bologna, where I\ninstruct and operate. When we fly and instruct aerobatic flying, we need 99% of\nour attention on the student and on the maneuver technique. Knowing that other\nGA traffic can see me on their ADS-B displays makes me feel safer. This is\nparticularly important when teaching aerobatics, as I have minimal time to look\naround, as my focus is on the aerobatic sequence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am genuinely delighted with Trig – the equipment is small\nenough to fit in my panel and has been easy to install. Trig transponders are\nsimple to operate yet meet the latest regulatory standards. The TT21 is a\nwell-respected quality product, it is suited to the demands of high performance\nand aerobatic flying up to 10 positive and -7.5 negative g\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luca is keen to encourage other aircraft owners, glider\npilots and the wider GA community to secure the safety benefits of fitting a\nTrig ADS-B Out solution. More GA pilots are using ADS-B In traffic receivers\nand the Trig TT21 and TN72 makes you visible to commercial, military and all\nADS-B In equipped general aviation types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luca said, \u201cWhy wait for a potential collision or accident\nwhen Trig technology is on hand to make flying safer? All pilots can benefit by\nusing Trig\u2019s ADS-B to enhance their safety, on every flight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luca has a good basis to share his expertise with other\npilots. He\u2019s currently based near Bologna where he\u2019s completing his ATPL(A) and\nCPL-IR MEP at one of the best Italian Flight Schools, while training at\nFlyOzzano for his aerobatics projects. Luca holds numerous other international\naviation awards and has displayed at many prestigious airshows worldwide,\nincluding Oshkosh and Sun\u2018n\u2019Fun. Having become the World Advanced Glider\nAerobatic Champion, Vice World Unlimited Champion twice, Bertossio became the\nyoungest World Air Games Champion in 2015.
