In this role, Thompson will grow the firm\u2019s presence in the\naviation field, bridging its design and construction groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"118\" height=\"168\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Joe-Thompson.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17396\"\/><figcaption><em>Joe Thompson<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJoe brings to the firm more than 30 years of experience in\nthe aviation sector,\u201d said Chuck Kohler, P.E., S.E, STV chief operating\nofficer. \u201cHe has worked on projects and mega programs for major airports and\nairlines throughout the United States. The breadth and depth of his\nunderstanding of the industry make him the ideal leader to shape and grow STV\u2019s\naviation practice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before joining STV, Thompson was a vice president for a\nleading national construction and development company, responsible for business\ndevelopment through preconstruction and operations in North Carolina. Prior to\nthat, Thompson was an aviation market operations expert at a national general\ncontracting, construction management, and design-build firm, leading the\noperations planning effort for the successful joint venture pursuit of the $3.5\nbillion replacement of Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout his career, Thompson has facilitated improvements\nat some of the country\u2019s largest airports, including Los Angeles International\nAirport, George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, and\nHartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
