{"id":17243,"date":"2020-12-22T16:40:04","date_gmt":"2020-12-22T16:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=17243"},"modified":"2020-12-22T16:40:05","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T16:40:05","slug":"wilmington-intl-honored-with-aci-nas-public-relations-programs-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-carolina\/wilmington-intl-honored-with-aci-nas-public-relations-programs-award\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Wilmington Int&#8217;l Honored with ACI-NA\u2019s Public Relations Programs Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Monday, the Wilmington International Airport received the\nAirports Council International North America\u2019s (ACI-NA) Public Relations\nPrograms Award (small airports), during the Airports Council International\u2013North\nAmerica (ACI-NA) 2020 Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and\nCustomer Service Awards program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its formation in 1990, the Excellence in Airport\nMarketing, Communications and Customer Experience Awards have recognized the\nquality of work, abundance of talent, and creativity within the marketing,\ncommunications, and customer experience field of the airport industry. This\nyear, ACI-NA received nearly 270 entries from airports across the U.S. and\nCanada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Overall Public Relations Program category recognizes\noverall approaches to airport public relations and media relations. This is a\nplanned effort to improve the airport\u2019s image in the public eye. This award is\ngiven in three categories: Large Airport, Medium Airport, and Small Airport.\nThe 2020 winners for Overall Public Relations Programs were the Los Angeles\nInternational Airport (large airports), Louis Armstrong New Orleans\nInternational Airport (medium airports), and Wilmington International Airport\n(small airports).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kevin M. Burke, ACI-NA President and CEO announced the ILM\u2019s\naward during the virtual ceremony. A video tribute recognized that \u201cWilmington\nInternational Airport\u2019s Thanks a Million campaign celebrated the airport\u2019s\nmilestone of serving a record breaking 1 million passengers in 2019.&nbsp; The strategic effort sought to create and\nmaintain a favorable airport image among travelers and the community by showing\nappreciation and bringing a sense of shared celebration to their customers.&nbsp; The festive campaign reinforced Wilmington\u2019s\ncommitment to being a friendly and personable airport. Celebratory signage, pop\nup events and surprise giveaways occurred. Airport staff and volunteer\nambassadors personally shared their appreciation, handed out giveaways, and\nconnected with travelers and key stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to receive this prestigious award from\nACI-NA. Thanks a Million to all the staff, volunteers, and partners that\ncollaborated on this project and to our business and leisure travelers that fly\nILM.
