This newly created position is responsible for the development and\ndelivery of ongoing advocacy and communications to Federal policymakers and\nother aviation stakeholders about the concerns and needs of state aviation as\npart of our national aviation system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jessica-Nagasko-NASAO.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17084\" width=\"186\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jessica-Nagasko-NASAO.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jessica-Nagasko-NASAO-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 186px) 100vw, 186px\" \/><figcaption><em>Jessica Nagasako<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining NASAO, Jessica served three years as a\ncommunications consultant for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).\nPreviously, she served as a political appointee at VA\u2019s Office of Public and\nIntergovernmental Affairs and U.S. Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Office of\nPolicy. Nagasako also worked for eight years in the United States Senate, where\nshe served as a Legislative Assistant to Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) where she\nadvised on security and economic issues, including aviation, travel and\ntourism, homeland security, and appropriations. She also served as Professional\nStaff Member on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental\nAffairs\u2019 Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management. In this position,\nshe advised the subcommittee chairman on issues pertaining to transportation\nsecurity, biosecurity, agriculture security, and emergency management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited about the skills and experiences that\nJessica brings to NASAO\u2019s advocacy efforts, and look forward to ever expanded\nsuccess in working with the Congress and new Administration to advance the\ninterests of the states in the governance and funding of aviation \u201d commented\nNASAO President and CEO Greg Pecoraro.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nagasako grew up in Lahaina, HI, and graduated from\nClaremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA with a degree in government and\npsychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NASAO is dedicated to representing the interests of the\nstates and the public before policymakers at the federal level.&nbsp; Its goal is to ensure the nation has a safe,\nsecure, efficient, and well-funded aviation system as a powerful economic\nengine for growth and job creation across the nation. NASAO is the only\norganization deeply invested in representing the public interest in all facets\nof aviation and airports.
