The 2021 group, which will begin in\nAugust, will be the third apprenticeship class to begin at Piper Aircraft\u2019s\nworld headquarters in Vero Beach, FL. The two-year program includes a\ncombination of on-the-job training as well as classroom instruction designed to\nqualify the participants as a Journeyman in Aircraft Assembly. Each apprentice\nis a paid employee of Piper Aircraft and receives a full benefits package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accredited apprenticeship program, which is conducted in\ncooperation with Indian River State College, began in August 2019 and was\ncreated in response to the increasing demand for high quality manufacturing\ncandidates at Piper Aircraft. The first group of apprentices, which began in\n2019, will graduate in the summer of 2021. The second class is currently\ncompleting their first semester of the program and are continuing to shadow skilled\naircraft assembly workers and learn all aspects of fabrication and assembly of\naircraft during the two-year initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Piper Aircraft will be hosting several informational\nsessions for prospective apprentices (parents \/ guardians and significant others\nwelcome) at the Piper Aircraft factory in Vero Beach during the coming months.\nThe sessions will include a brief presentation, the opportunity to meet with\ncurrent apprentices as well as program coordinators. Additionally, guidance\nwill be provided on the application process and timing.
