{"id":17027,"date":"2020-12-02T17:11:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T17:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=17027"},"modified":"2020-12-02T17:11:02","modified_gmt":"2020-12-02T17:11:02","slug":"scottsdale-airport-and-airpark-under-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/arizona\/scottsdale-airport-and-airpark-under-construction\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Scottsdale Airport and Airpark Under Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An adage goes, \u201cIf there isn\u2019t construction happening on an\nairport, then something is not right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Scottsdale-Door2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17028\" width=\"240\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Scottsdale-Door2.png 480w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Scottsdale-Door2-225x300.png 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>True to the saying, Scottsdale Airport in Scottsdale, AZ, is adding footing as one of the top business aviation facilities in the nation with a groundswell of construction projects boasting direct construction costs of more than $92 million. City projects amounted to $37 million of this portion, with private entities and business partners contributing $55 million for on-airport and Airpark developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2017, there has been notable aviation-related\nconstruction projects at Scottsdale Airport and within the surrounding Airpark.\nEight impressive construction projects are either completed, in process or\nproposed for 2021. These projects center around redevelopment of aged\nproperties or development of vacant parcels to introduce more hangar space and\nmodernize office space projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the most construction activity I have seen at the\nairport and Airpark, since 2000 and 2001,\u201d said Scottsdale Aviation Director\nGary P. Mascaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Construction has a significant impact on the economy. It\ncreates jobs and income for the city, region and state. Additionally, for\nScottsdale Airport, these construction projects offer well maintained\ninfrastructure and amenities that attract businesses, tenants and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investment into Scottsdale Airport will continue with a planned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scottsdaleaz.gov\/airport\/runway-rehabilitation-project\">Runway Rehabilitation Project<\/a> slated for next summer. This will be the largest grant-funded project for the airport with a tab of $12 million.
