The annual coordination meeting between RTCA and EUROCAE\ntook place on November 17-18, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting is a special occasion for the two organization\u2019s\ncollaboration to not only discuss current developments in their organizations\u2019\njoint and non-joint standardization activities, but also to share a more\nstrategic outlook to the future and to consider how to foster and enhance their\nrelationship with ICAO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, the RTCA team Terry McVenes, RTCA President,\nSteve Brown, NBAA & Chair of RTCA Policy Board, Chris Hegarty, Mitre &\nChair of PMC, was joined on the EUROCAE side by Christian Schleifer, Secretary\nGeneral, Bruno Ayral, Thales LAS & EUROCAE Council Chair and President,\nEric Bouchard, Dassault Aviation & TAC Chair, as well as the relevant team\nmembers from both organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the discussions, the leaders of EUROCAE and RTCA\nspecifically recognized the contribution of the WG and SC leaders and\nparticipants and acknowledged the continuing efforts supporting standardization\nactivities in these special times \u2013 it is their activities that help the organizations\ncontinue and even expand their activities. They have been able to move quickly\nto a completely virtual environment allowing them to work together to be even\nmore efficient and effective in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the discussions, EUROCAE and RTCA reaffirmed their\nstrong partnership, agreeing that future standardization initiatives should be\nby default pursued in a joint manner. The processes and procedures that have\nbeen in place for a long time, backed by our Memorandum of Cooperation, will be\nused and reinforced to enable this cooperation also in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two groups are looking forward to continue working with their\npartners to enhance international harmonization and global interoperability, at\nthe service of their members and the entire aviation community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
